  1. Can you have that person get ahold of me. I am 10 months post op. Have had several complications. I have lost too much weight. I am presently on liquid feedings. I can not eat food without pain. I can not absorb nutrients. I need to talk to someone who has been through this.
  2. Going to be on TPN for 21 days, anyone else.
  3. Has anyone else experienced hernia/ obstruction surgery!
  4. I get really hot after I eat too much sugar. Dr says it is dumping syndrome.
  5. I am 8 months out, started out at 222, presently at 118. I feel like a skeleton. I am 5'7". Have diabetes which has not improved since surgery. Any tips for gaining weight ( God did I really say that?) I was told to get in 85 grams of protein, how? Advice please

  7. I am 15 weeks out, have been told to not eat beef for 6 months. I have difficulty with chicken and turkey. I suspect you will be very cautious from now on. I had a bad night when I ate small pieces of shrimp too fast. I am terrified of reliving that. I eat very cautiously. I am down 65 Ibs. Good luck.

  9. Easiest surgery ever! Mine was done on a Friday and I was back to work on Monday. No restrictions . No diet changes.
  10. Doing well also, weight loss has slowed, but losing inches! HW 222 lbs SW 206 lbs Now 174 Ibs People are finally noticing as I got more form fitting clothes. People have actually said I am tiny. Never in my lifetime would I believe anyone would refer to me as tiny!!!!
  11. I am doing well, hit a stall. I know I need to be exercising more. I am super bored with the food I am eating. Yogurt, cheese sticks, chicken. Need something else, ideas?
  12. Just had an horrible experience with this last night. I am also 6 weeks post op. I know what I did wrong, ate small cut up pieces of shrimp too fast. I vomited for 6 hours. Still have excess salvia even today. Will not be eating shrimp any time soon!
  13. Was hoping to cure my type 2 diabetes with bypass. That has not happened yet. I am 6 weeks post op. Taking less insulin but hoping to take nothing. How did it go for the rest of you?
  14. 5 weeks out and feel exactly the same way! Seeing the Dr tomorrow for follow up and will discuss these issues with him. I'll let you know if he says anything earth shattering about it.
  15. Yes I too have had trouble sleeping. I have read here that it is common, not sure why. I have been using the pain meds only at night to help me sleep. Tried NyQuil zzz the other night and had a bad reaction. Wonder how others are dealing with it?
  16. Me too, thrush is nasty! I have had it 3 weels. Two different meds. Now a Dr told me this morning to brush my tongue and gargle with salt water. I just want it gone! But really the only bothersome thing abt the whole procedure, so I should not complain.
  17. Surgery on 7-7-14. Feeling good, except for having thrush for almost 3 weeks now! Down 31 lbs since initial weigh in.
  18. I am 3 weeks post surgery. I have also wondered if the weight loss would make me look older, though being healthy is my main goal. I am down 28 lbs and just feel better overall. Anything is better then being 6 feet under!

  20. Am 3 weeks out and the wound where the drain was has been bleeding, not tons, but bright red blood on packing and oozing out of incision when packing is out. Is this normal?
  21. SD 7-7-14 SW 222lbs CW 195 lbs Total pounds lost 27 But nothing in the last couple of days. Walking but not a lot. Feel pretty great overall!
  22. Updates for us two week out people? I am doing well, some little issue with wound care but that is coming along. Thrush is subsiding. Constipation is the issue of the day, any ideas how to remedy this? Down 27 lbs!
