Diabetics, cured from WLS

Was hoping to cure my type 2 diabetes with bypass. That has not happened yet. I am 6 weeks post op. Taking less insulin but hoping to take nothing. How did it go for the rest of you?

I am 15 months post-op. I went off all my diabetes medicine the day I left the hospital and haven't taken any since. Blood sugar levels are still fine.

Hi I went off all my diabetic insulin and meds before I left the hospital as well and my sugar has been great and in re admission , I also went off of all blood pressure medications and my high chloysterial meds . I'm sure you will be off of them soon .

My blood sugar has been in the 102-107 range. My doc said to take the met but if my blood sugars were good to stop taking it. I decided if it was that low there was no need for met. Feeling so much better after surgery. Best of luck!!
