Hey yall
I am Jess and im 27 years old. I live in florida although im from Illinois. My dr submitted everything to my insurance last thursday and the wait is making me CRaZy.( Like cleaning fridge with a toothbrush crazy.) I have a 2 year old who is my miracle baby and i adore every breath he takes. I am 5ft 8in and currently 315lbs. Im not sure how my husband feels about my surgery and i fear our marriage not making it thru my recovery. Would love to make some friends and welcome any tips/advice anyone wants to share.
Look forward to hearing from you

Welcome! The waiting can really drive you nuts. I used the time to prepare and freeze a bunch of meals for my family to eat the first couple weeks.

Tomorrow is my big day! Hope to see you on here again.

Welcome to the forum.

Congratulations on making this decision for yourself to take your health and well being into control.

You will be so pleased on how well this surgery will make you feel.

Don't let anyone especially yourself Detour you from getting what you want and work hard for.

You're doing a wonderful thing for you and for your family but especially and most importantly for you...

Good luck with your future surgery.

I truly hope he does too.. Help him & educate him on what you can have & how you have to eat before & after the surgery.. My sister is my supporter, & she has kept me on track every step of the way.. (to be honest, I think she likes telling her older sis "NO! you cannot have that)..lol

You will need a good support system after the surgery. Have friends/ family lined up to help. You can't lift anything over 15 lbs.

My mom is going to come down for a few days while im in the hospital and whenni get situated at home after. If things get too hard here i can always go to her house. I have younger siblings that will help.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water. Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
