Calcium Supplements Help Needed

Recommended Posts

Had my surgery on Tuesday, home yesterday. Doing remarkably well, thanks be to God. I had decided (why I can't recall) to go with powdered calcium citrate rather than chew-ables-----BIG mistake--it would be fine if I could drink 1/2 cup of Water in one mouthful but not good with just little sips. Wondering what chew-able Calcium supplement people are using and liking. I need to either order them on line or get out and get them because I won't be able to continue with the powder. Thanks!

Disclaimer - I have not used these myself but everyone I know who has used them has said they love them. chocolate Peanut Butter chewy bites from Bariatric Advantage:

If those don't appeal to you, their lemon and caramel chews also get high marks in general from what I have seen. Good luck!

I use the Bariatric Advantage caramel chewy bites and really like them. Almost like a treat three times a day. I have heard the new lemon ones are really good and taste like a Starburst. I tried the chocolate Peanut Butter ones and didn't care for them. They had a funny smell.

I'm using the Viactiv Calcium plus D Soft Chews. The chocolate ones taste just like my Premier Protein shakes.

Mix your powder in a Protein Shake or yogurt or cottage cheese. I was taking capsules and I just opened them and sprinkled them in my Protein shake or Greek yogurt. They had no taste.

I hate chewables. Have tried chewable from brands like BA and Caltrate but they all seemed to make me nauseous. I had no idea why they were causing nausea and upon research I found that these chewables contained harmful fillers like Ethyl/Hydroxy Propyl Cellulose, Silicon/Titanium Dioxide etc that caused the symptoms. I immediately changed to capsules from Vita4Life upon my nuts recommendation. I take 1200mg Calcium in a dosage of 4 capsules and have had no complaints. You can get them off Amazon or their website.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
