Increased Energy?

Recommended Posts

I am currently waiting on insurance approval for gastric sleeve surgery. For those of you who have lost weight, have you noticed a great increase in energy?

Right after surgery, my energy was very low and I was super weak. Slowly but surely, I got my energy and strength back, and by week 3 I felt pretty much back to normal. Now two months out, I feel better than my old normal. I don't know if it would be right to say I have more "energy" (I might just not be that energetic a person), but I have more endurance, I'm much fitter (I'm working out a lot), and I sleep better.

I think the better term would be more "available energy". I always had the energy or desire to do things....just not the stamina or mobility to fulfill those efforts.

Now, with every passing day, I am astonished by how easily I can do things without even thinking about it. Only later does it sink in how much has changed and it truly fills me with satisfaction. During the course of every day, I find myself smiling over little effortless accomplishments that were lost for so long. It's almost like recapturing a sort of lost youth. ;)

Are you kidding? I feel like a KID again! It was a little slow going for the first couple of months after surgery, but by the time I took off 30-40 pounds and was in condition to eat real food and move more... WOW! I can spend all day working in the yard now if I want. (Not that I want to do yard work all day, LOL). No way I could do that last year! Now that I've reached my goal range and all pre-op comorbidities are gone, (med-free), I actually have the energy to live the life I want!

I'm only 3 weeks out but by week 2 I found myself--less lazy lol I don't know, I never wanted to do dishes and waited for my husband to do it. I tidy up my closet, my living area. I'm not sure if it's because I'm resting at home and have a lot of spare time or what but it's strange.

I hope I still want to be energetic like this when I go back to work. Still have 2 and a half weeks of sick leave. I love that I can go walking in the park for 2 hours everyday. Now I'm feeling pretty much like my own self, no longer exhausted like the first week even I'm living on very small amont of food.

I'm pretty convinced now that maybe we don't actually need a lot of food to survive. The "normal" portion of meals probably is even too much and unnecessary?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
