I haven't had my surgery yet, but will be sometime during the end of August. I am using Dr. Steinberg in Decatur, GA and he is also using the robot. He said it takes about an hour to complete.

I had this done June 23 by Dr. Christopher Hart at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. I have had zero complications so far. Dr. Hart is extremely conscious during surgery. His staff is amazing! Can't say enough praise for the whole experience.

I had gall bladder done with the robot and it was a great process. I wish I had the option for my RNY. It wasn't bad, but one incision was great!

Can I ask what the complications were and where did you have procedure? How are you now?

I ended up in surgery for 8 hours because the staples would not stay closed in my new pouch. Finally my dr had to sew it together. After that I ended up with a leak and had to get a stint place to allow the leak to close. Took almost two months but as of now I'm ok. I started out almost 300 pounds and now I'm at 220. Had my surgery may 12th of this year.

My surgery was done roboticly, no complications and essentially no pain (other than gas pains). I didn't even have any bruising so I highly recommend choosing a surgeon that does it that way.

Wow, I am so glad you are okay. That's kind of a fluke, right? Did your doctor explain why the staples wouldn't hold?

The good news is you don't have a bunch of titanium staples on your pouch.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
