THE LIQUID DIET COMPLAINING/SUPPORT LOUNGE

Complain on... let it out...

We are all here for each other..

In my case, I was told that my liquid diet is set to be three weeks, as I am having two hernia repairs, and room is needed in there for all of this.. Not cool...

I'm on day three of two week pre-op liquids. Day one was torture...hated every Protein shake. Yesterday I found one I liked and got a new attitude. Today, I woke up with headache, intestinal issues and just generally feeling like crud.

I know it will get better and this misery is a rite of passage..but it sucks.

Technically, I don't "have" to start the pre-op diet for another 2 weeks, but I've been trying different Protein shakes just to make sure I find some I like, and so far I'm 0 - 4, with the Protein Shakes winning, cuz they all taste like "death with sweetener added"....lol...

I have been told to try some unflavored powder in Soups and other drinks though, so I'm trying that next.

I've just never been a big "sweets" kinda person, my downfall is bread and Pasta, so these shakes are KILLING me...so to speak... ;)

I've been hearing a lot of complaints about the sweetness of shakes and truthfully haven't tried any yet. Last year I did isagenix for 6 weeks and didn't mind the flavor.

Has anyone considered low sodium tomato juice with protein powder? I'm not a sweets person so have considered trying this. Anyone try this before? Thoughts?

Well, this gets me all kind of excited - not. I have, I think, until November or late October to do this. Hoping to find some tricks and hints before that time.

Oooh! :P

I found a thread that suits me to a 'T'!!

I start on Monday for three weeks of Optifast...I'm not too big on sweets, so this should go real well.

*gag*

Began my pre-op diet today. Have been hungry the last couple hours but can't consume anything with calories again until tomorrow :(. Yes, I'm a sissy.

I start my pre-op diet in a few weeks. Looking forward to reading more ideas and tips on how to survive the experience. Thanks!

Try Syntrax Nectar in Fuzzy Naval...it's considered a clear liquid protein and you can mix it with any amount of water to your liking. It's the consistency of orange juice so it's not thick and gritty like the chocolate shakes. I'm 4 months out and I still drink two scoops a day...it's really not that bad.

I'm starting the liquid diet tomorrow, as well as a training course. I'm worried I'll be too hungry to concentrate. Still, at least I won't be thinking about what I should or shouldn't eat at the meals

Day Two, Noon: Sister made pizza. Left half out on the counter. (I will not lick the pizza. I will not lick the pizza.)

Im two weeks post-op still on liquids. I found a couple of things that worked for me so I wanted to share..core power light choc protein drink has made world of difference and unjury unflavored protein powder these two things have been lifesavers to me

I'm 9 days into my 2week liquid diet. I've found that I prefer the taste and texture of Jay Robb protein(I found it at whole foods, but you can order it online too). I like to mix PB2 with the chocolate and I like to mix in sugar free pudding flavors like banana(with the chocolate) or pistaschio(with the vanilla)! I also add extract flavors for a few different tastes, like Almond Joy and Root Beer float(without adding any soda)! I do tolerate the unjury unflavored with broth.

So ready to have my surgury so I don't feel hungry all day every day! Haha, I know a lot of it is in my head, but if I don't keep myself busy I go crazy!
