I am 1 1/4 years with my band. Last week I had a stuck episode and it caused a lot of swelling to my stomach and I think my esophagus. I am moving slowly towards eating again but I still can't eat solids. Do you have suggestions for mushy foods that I can eat? I am so bored of just Soups and ice cream.

Oh gosh, sorry to hear about your stuck episode!!!

Here are a couple I tried when I was in this stage:

It was ricotta cheese, spaghetti sauce, mozz. cheese and you microwave it until warm. I layered the bowl with the ricotta, then the sauce and then the mozz. You could also use cottage cheese to get more Protein in place of the ricotta. It sounds weird but it was actually very good, but that av only been because I was sick of Soup myself:-)

I always loved refried Beans pureed and then topped with shredded cheddar cheese and taco sauce, you could even add some avocado to it.

Loaded smashed cauliflower.

Cauliflower steamed and mashed, mix in

Some shredded cheddar cheese (I eye ball mine)

A couple cloves of garlic

A splash of milk to thin it out

salt and pepper

Okios non-fat Plain greek yogurt (again I eye ball)

I typically add bacon and green onion to mine but since you don't want to chew anything I would leave these out unless you wanted to add it all to a blender and puree it before eating?

Mash your steamed cauliflower and add in the yogurt and milk, and garlic and then stir in the cheese.

I hope you feel better soon!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
