I feel like I've seen this same thread before but it's so different living through it. I'll be 5 weeks post op rny this Thursday, and I haven't lost any weight since week three! I get about 40-50 ounces of Water and Protein daily. I'm also currently on soft food phase. I feel like I'm failing already. I'm trying to just keep with my plan, this is making me crazy! Prior to surgery I told myself this would happen, and to try not to worry too much about it. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

That should be 40-50 ounces of Water, and about 40-50 grams of Protein

Both should be higher... around 64oz Water and 60-80 grams of Protein. Women should be near the 60 gram mark; men - 80.

Which surgery did you have? If you get on a PC, try updating your profile.

"Failing ?" Really ? You are not failing at anything except letting you WLS do its work. Your body is adjusting, and making sure its not being starved by you, which is why its holding onto the fat, in case of starvation.. Once your body figures out that its consistanly being fed good food and Water, it will let go of the fat. Nobody is failing because they dont lose weight EVERY week, there is no rule that says you will or wont. Sometimes just staying OFF the scale and staying ON the healthy food program is your best bet. Good luck , and be kind to yourself !

Hi bets

I'm about nine weeks out. And stalled for seven weeks now. I was panicking, then feeling that I had failed (doing something, or all of it wrong) but then caught sight of myself in the mirror, well I was shocked.... I saw a person, who looked like a slimmer version of me. Strange isn't it. Then I noticed that my clothes were getting too big on me. Then other people started noticing too. But the scales stayed the same.... Started researching then, and have found lots of info about fat being replaced with muscle, so your body changes, but the scales don't!!!!! I guess what I'm saying is keep to the plan, keep calm, don't worry, let it happen, because it will, we're all very different, don't be put off by success stories, thinking that your failing. I got up this morning, jumped on the scales, moved them around a couple of times to make sure they were right, coz I lost two pounds, yopppppeeeee. Success will come to us all x

Bets reach deep into your closed and try on something that was too small before and you will be very surprised. I am at 5 weeks post op (sleeved 6/9) and although I may lose half a pound or nothing at all per week I am flying through clothes. It seems like everyday something I wore last week is now HUGE on my body. Hang in there, we did not gain all of this excess weight in five weeks and its definitely not all going to come off in that period of time. Enjoy this journey because at 5 weeks it has already been amazing.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
