40+ days and counting..

Recommended Posts

It's been a little over 40 days since surgery, I'm having mixed feelings about the "band". I've had 3 post op appointments and am mow at 6cc. I'm definitely always hungry, the nutritionist is having a blast changing my diet every 2 weeks (evil). I'm stuck at 9lbs lost and haven't progressed since then.. I know it's a slow process but C'MON!! I was working out 6 times a week 1 to 2 times a day and felt great. I mentioned that and the physicians and nutritionist about flipped. They pretty much said stop! Change my exercise routine like they asked to 30 minute walks 3 to 4 times a week... womp:/ couldn't raise my heart rate past 86 BORING.. Went to the doc again yesterday they gave me back my exercise!!!! yey!! Also they want me to eat about 40% fat a day which is hard. They suggested bacon, sausage, etc. (don't like either of those) They took oatmeal from me (heartbroken).. anyway this turned into me just venting.. anyone want to tell me how they are doing?

Hi there, you are in what is referred to as "Bandster Hell." It's the time when you've gotten your band but still going through the phases. Once you are at the right adjustment you will have the appetite monster off of your back and it will be so much easier. Many of us will say that it was good that it took the time it took because of the necessary behavior modification. The learning curve. If we could have been successful with diet and exercise, why would we have gotten weight loss surgery? The band is about dimming the appetite but it's a process to get there. Meanwhile it's really important to eat real food and focus on the Protein first then the veggies, no sliders. Good luck to you -- you will get this! It's a frustrating time.

Hmmm, I have never been told to eat bacon in my entire life. I thought that just came naturally. lol

Bandster Hell is hell. I was in it for 4 months before I started to lose weight. It's frustrating I know but the doctors are trying to help you see and feel the band working it's magic. oatmeal is a slider food and doesn't offer much in the way of satiety. I'm not sure bacon and sausage is the answer(you're the first human I know of who doesn't like bacon) but they do offer more satiety than slider foods. I'd suggest low fat hamburger, or chicken breast or tenderloin steak for satiety.

So, I went through similar venting stages like yours for 4 months till my 3rd fill gave me a level of satiety/restriction that started my weight loss journey.

I had a fill on Wednesday and I feel like I could graze all day. I'm frustrated. I know not to expect anything 'great' with the first fill but seriously??????

I'm also afraid that I'm gonna screw up my band. (You know, the picture with the stomach on top if the band because you are eating too much.)

My stomach growls constantly.

I just want to feel full!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
