Embarrassing tmi question for women

Recommended Posts

I had the impression that it's not so much that the pill won't work, as that it's not as much of a sure thing. Still, probably better than nothing.

I agree, better than nothing. I just wanted to give the OP a head's up that it was not a foolproof option. There are tons of articles out there about it (and perhaps I should have linked to a different on initially). after reviewing more of them, it seems to boil down to the pills being "significantly less effective" for women with BMIs over 30; the chance of getting pregnant is 4 times more than for a woman with a lower BMI. Just thought it might be helpful information to have.

@@Katnice - how are you doing? Did you talk to your doctor / go to the pharmacy?

Plan B is high dose birth control. If dr didn't want you on pill he probably doesn't want you to take plan B. It's probably far enough post surgery, but why take that risk? Call the dr office back. Tell them it's an emergency. You just had major surgery!! The answering service doesn't need to know what kind of surgery. It's none of their business!! I know it probably doesn't help, but if you just finished your period, you are more than likely not ovulating. Best of luck

I'm not meaning this to sound rude - but your surgeon has probably seen and heard it all. You put your life in his (or her) hands to do your surgery. My surgeon has a number listed where the "team" can be contacted at any time. I'm sure it's nothing they haven't heard before - and then you will be given information based on what your surgeon thinks is best....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
