For insurance purposes. I have to do one more additional appointment with my primary care on September 5. So I will probably have to push surgery into the first week of October because of my kids school schedule.

i had to do the same thing..My original date was july 15th 2014, but insurance wanted me to do 2 more dietician visits..that was in may so i saw the dietician june and this month for an august surgery date..It was such a downer and unfortunately I fell off the wagon a bit because of the disappointment..I prayed about it and got back on track and I just left it in gods hands and you should too try not to be bummed things will turn out just fine and keep us posted still..GOOD LUCK TO YOU

I am on my 7th going on 8th day of my preop liquid diet. It did finally get a little easier. By the end of each day I feel so empty and nauseated...But I am down 14 lbs though! So it's working...August 6th is my surgery date and I'm getting excited!

I just heard from Cigna I was denied. As I sit here in tears, I was told last Friday that everything was going thru, that I should start the preop diet. Well here I am on day 2 of this DAMN liquid diet and have been told that the doc needs to resubmit paperwork and have a peer to peer review, why do I even try!!!!

Kristigo, I'm very sorry to hear this has happened. HOWEVER, most of the peer to peer reviews I've read about result in approval. Please hang in there. Your reasons for wanting the surgery have not changed. And that's why you try. ((hugs))

I'm an August 5th Sleeve. So nervous. I'm at work but I can't think of anything but the surgery.

My operation date is August 5th... I'm a little nervous I've never bn in the hospital for anything.

I've had two C-sections. I figure I was awake for both of those and they pulled out a 10lb baby each time. This should be a piece of cake. Just stay ahead of the pain with medication. But I'm so anxious. Plus this preop liquid diet is making me cranky. So with the nerves and the crankiness combined, I'm a real delight to hang out with. But this time next week I'll be on the loser's bench. I thought this day would never, ever come.

I am scheduled for August 12th! I am so excited!! i do not have to do a full liquid diet until the day before. Just high Protein low carb.

Yay! Me too! Of course I get the pleasure of the liquid diet, so I'm envious of you there, lol! I'm required to lose 15 lbs before surgery and I'm down about 8 and got 7 to go with just under 2 weeks to do it. I'm losing about 0.5-1 lb per day so I'm very optimistic :-)

I'm scheduled for August 13th. I'm so ready for this surgery. I've been at this for a year now - between classes and losing the 10% - that I have no doubt that I'm ready and this is the right thing for me!!

Soooo...I'm making a suggestion. If you are a Pinterest Fanatic like me, DON'T open Pinterest for a while and especially while you are on your preop liquid diet. OMG...I am hungry! LOL!! :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
