how soon can we do protein bars?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

My surgeon had me starting me on Protein shakes (I use whey protein) and I blend it with a cup of milk and 4 or 5 ice cubes. I had to do this 2x a day but now down to one. They have some yummy flavors like strawberry and Peanut Butter cup! I use body fortress!! Did your doctor mention anything about a Protein supplement? And by that I mean the powder to make shakes?

I would say to stick with the Protein Shakes for now. If you want to incorporate bars later, wait until you are back on regular foods.

I wasn't permitted Protein Bars until 6 months after surgery, due to the high carb count. Even now I'm only supposed to use them in a pinch -- when traveling and so on. Protein Shakes have been a regular part of my diet though.

My mom struggles with underweight. Her PCP recommended Protein bars to her as a healthy way to GAIN weight. Keeping that in mind, it never bothered me that my dietician ruled them out.

I wasnt allowed to have Protein bars until I was on a full diet. Than was about 12 weeks. Now I usually fit a Quest Protein Bar into my daily intake of food. They are quite tasty and good when on the go

My NUT considers them candy bars on steroids so I won't eat them. She has done great by me so far so I listen to her 100%!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
