I would love to lose more around my waist and bum. My ass is holding on for dear life. LOL! I seem to lose from the top down. Sorry boobs, apparently you got voted off the island.

Congrats on your losses so far!

Haha its great to read all this omg! It helps me so much...I am losing from my waist down but my boobs are not going anywhere they now seem extremely huge! I like my big boobs and have always embrace them but I'm getting disturbing looks and I hate that! I'm not losing pounds but inches and sizes for sure size 12 is getting big for me now and that makes me happy! We can do this people...stay strong!

The food part is fairly easy but I'm really lagging in the exercise piece. I walk every day and swim sone days but not really inspired to get out there and sweat. What do you guys do to get motivated to burn calories?

Walking and/or swimming on a daily basis is pretty good exercise for this point out. I walk or cycle most days (I do lift light weights every other day as well, because I would like to minimize the loose arm skin, and I've got heavier dumbbells on their way to help with that). The only motivation I have is stepping on the scales and seeing the numbers getting smaller, or trying on clothes and finding things fit that I never dreamed of getting back into.

I was 285 the day of surgery (HW 310 when I started at the bariatric office), and CW is 241. That's motivation :D

I still have motivational problems! I want to walk more but i live on the Gulf coast, its 95 with over80% humidity here and does not cool off at nigth. My mother is giving me this walking glider thing Im going to try to do that in my air conditioned house. I am also going to start weight training soon.

Congrats all! I was sleeved on May 21st. I am down 37 pds. Actually felt like I was a little slow but after reading others successes I feel more in line. Hunger is becoming an issue already. I was hoping it would be further out. I'll just have to keep control of it and stick with my exercise plan.

Exercise is difficult if you do not enjoy it. For me walking on a treadmill is always kind of a slog and not enjoyable (and honestly I'm not an outdoorsy nature person so walking outside isn't any more motivating or fun for me). So I had to find something more likeable. I love swimming and have decided to incorporate it into my routine two days a week. So maybe you like Zumba because you like to dance or step aerobics because you like the variation Or maybe the treadmill is your thing because you can zone out. But the key is to try as many things as you can in order to find something you look forward to doing.

Also, hello @@DevilDog! Pleased to meet you!

Hi, and thank you for the welcome!

I've been really enjoying swimming too and try go 5-6 times a week and walk about 30 minutes at least 4-5 times a week. To add some resistance to my swimming routine I started using some flippers and some swimming gloves and I can totally feel the difference. My husband uses wrist weights when he swims and he's also noticed a difference.

I have been lifting weights since I was cleared to by my doctor, but have really been slacking off on the cardio... have only done the rowing machine a couple of times, and zumba once. So my hubby and I re-started couch to 5k yesterday (I had gotten through week 2 before my pre-op diet started, then I just had no energy for it.) Let me tell you, running is much easier when you're 40 pounds lighter. I would almost call it fun! I'm actually pretty excited to do it again tomorrow.

I still feel there is only one occasion for running: Zombie apocalypse. I find cardio is a necessary evil. I do it, but I don't like it, save for swimming. But I only swim two days a week. It's really hard on my hair. Most days I just grind out 30 minutes on the treadmill or ellipitcal and another 30 on the bike. I really do like strength training though.

So in conclusion: Running is for the Zombie apocalypse.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
