Thursday 6/26 is my day! I'm first on the board for my doctor, and I couldn't be happier about it! The past couple days though at work I have had people come by and wish me well with surgery and it's just been a bit surreal. I have never been shy with my decision to do this - if they can't look at me and see why I'm doing it then they may need some glasses! They have all been supporting and understanding of the liquid diet, some jerks but for the most part they don't flaunt food in front of me :). I hope when I wake up Thursday (very early) in the morning, that I'm still so excited. I don't want to be scared of this. Quite honestly I'm more scared of not waking up some morning if I don't do it!!

Congrats on your decision to have surgery . Im 7 weeks post op and so happy I did this. I was so scared before the surgery and for me that was the worst part of the whole thing. Prayers for a fast recovery.

You are almost there! I hope you have an easy recovery period. I can't imagine how excited and nervous you must be at this point. Soon you will be on the other side of this surgery and telling how us good you feel :D

Like you when the date crept up I got scared. Forced my self throught the proceedure and upon waking up after surgery I ended up being very happy. There really is not much pain. I didnt need pain relief. I could drink Water, no problem. All my fears were gone. The surgery in my case which the nurses told me is typical was much easier than having my shoulder rebuilt. This surgery was a piece of cake.

Three weeks later I was off all my meds and down 40 lbs total including the one week pre-op diet. Today, half way through week 4 I just went into the 2's on the scale. Almost a third of my journey.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
