What Are Some Things You Can't Wait for POST OP?

Recommended Posts

I was constantly on a diet so often times I call myself going to salad bars where you pay per pound. I like all the different selections so I always wanted a little of this and that and well, my eyes are bigger than my stomach so I always overdid it and end up paying over $10.00 for lunch. Well when I am on solid foods after surgery, I can't wait to be able to go to a salad bar and get very little and be satisfied. I always admired the people who get the small containers and have very little in them. I can't wait for that to be me. lol

I can't wait to go shopping in a regular size clothing store and know that anything I see and like, I can try on. I don't have to go searching for the largest size on the rack, and hoping they have it.

Hmmm to be honest, if someone is eating a lot at the salad bar, I could that good. Now, I take a lot of fresh veggies and fruit, not 1 cup of cheese, bacon, etc. So I have to qualify that but if someone is taking a huge salad out with spinach, cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. I would say go for it!!

I can't wait until I feel like I have enough room to not need a seat belt extender in my new car. It fits but any sudden movement locks it ... I want room to spare!!!

Well, I am looking forward to all of those things as posted above, but right now, being the summer temps here are always 90 and higher, I am REALLY looking forward to getting rid of this enormous, hot, miserable, twisted, tight, size 46DDD BRA!!!!

Haha Stevie.. The damn BRA! Same here.. I'm 10 weeks out and down almost 50lbs. One thing that frustrates me at the moment is clothes ! It's a good thing I know. I've already got rid of all my 26 tops and 24 bottoms. All my summer stuff in storage doesn't fit. I feel like I'm changing sizes every 2 weeks.. Seems I'm losing inches more than lbs. I'm in a 16 now and that's 10 weeks ! Holy crap. I can't wait until I hit goal and fill my closets with nice new SMALL clothing !! ;)

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
