Hi my name is Barbara and I live in Murrells Inlet, SC. I had band surgery in NY over 10 years ago, and I had nothing but problems with it. Constant vomitting and that stuck feeling no matter what I ate. I followed up with the dr for about 6 months and nothing got better, so I just stopped going back. I think in total I lost about 30 lbs. Fast forward to February 2014, 80 lbs heavier and tired of sitting up and sleeping because if I laid down at night I would constantly cough up chunks of food. I was afraid I'd choke to death. I got the name of Dr. Morris Washington from my new pcp and he saw me the same day when I called. The PA Emily Choi removed the fluid from the band which made things livable. I discussed my options with him and Emily and decided on the sleeve, due to the fact after so many years of problems with the band that just wasn't an option for me. So now I am waiting anxiously for my surgery on July 23, 2104. I can't wait .... I can get back to my active life...I look forward to being able to using my kayak and not making it a submarine, LOL :blush: . I just postponed my surgery date to September 2....I really didn't want to but I just got this really great job in the travel industry, and don't want to get fired, so I figured I'd be better off doing it after tourist season....... :unsure:
