Today is the day I have been dreaming about for almost 3 weeks, I can start soft foods. However now I have no desire to eat and find that I am a overwhelmed with where to start. I have read to introduce one new food a week. Does that mean I should only eat scrambled eggs all week?

The over whelming feeling I can relate to. I feel this way daily. I don't know about the food one thing a week. I do know with all the change our taste change also. So be careful things I loved like cheese post surgery I don't care for now. I did not like eggs but enjoy one scrambled now. So eat slow because you get full fast. I over ate the first couple times eating fast don't do that. It is not fun lol. Best of luck on new foods.

Thank you I tried an egg and it made me feel sick so I'm going to wait a while before I try one again but I pray that cheese is still good, I loved cheese too.

egg salad was good to me when I first introduced soft foods but i only ate a few bites at a time and that was satisfying. chicken salad from canned chicken is another good one. Refried Beans is good...with melted cheese! :)

Crock pit chicken was always good would start it first thing in the morning and let it slow cook all day, when it was done the meat would just fall off the bone.

Try checking out The world according to eggface. Her blog is great but if you check her pinterest she has meal ideas for every stage. Pinterest is awesome. If you don't have an account you should get one. I have tons of ideas I found on there!

Ditto about how great egg face is. She saved me! Also be careful about overcooking things. Overcooked eggs did not sit well - but slightly damp very moist scrambled eggs were nirvana after no eating. Also overcooked chicken thigh was gross and made me gag. But cooked just the right amount of time to tender was wonderful. Use thighs since they're more moist -- at least to start with. cheese worked well, and the lower fat BabyBel Light was great - not too much fat for new tummy to handle! Applesauce, canned in Water peaches, were both good, but even more so warmed in microwave with a little cinnamon (no sweetener needed on those!). I worked up to thin slices of leaner natural (applegate) ham soon thereafter. Deli Turkey was weird for me - either the chemical processed taste or the dry-ness - not sure which. I tossed it. tuna didn't taste good to me either, but went down fine - canned crab was mild and perfect though, and so were crab cakes. I bought a package of two and reshaped them into three, and then still ate only half at a time. They were wonderful and easy on the stomach.

Also I never added more than one or two new things a daddy, and not more than maybe five a week. Any time something didn't sit right - I stopped adding and stayed with what worked for a full day, then tried again. Good luck!

I have been doing the crockpot thing. Never cared for one before but found tons of ideas on pintrest. I searched WLS recipes on there and it came up with so so many. Also I hated canned chicken before but my new tummy likes it. The eggs don't need to be dry. I just found the worldaccordingtoeggface.com and have gotten ideas. This is a new world for us and we have to teach ourselves over.

I am one week into the pureed part of my post-op diet.

My body seems to be asking for simple ingredient things.

Ricotta cheese has a lot of Protein in it.

Cottage cheese. I mix in fresh strawberry puree.

Cream Based Soups. In a box. Mix in unflavored Protein powder. (I had roasted red pepper Tomato bisque and butternut squash)

Refried Beans.

The Soups were the easiest for me at first. shake the box, pour out 1/4c, heat for 30 seconds. They are thin and the slight warmth felt soothing to my sleeve.

Today I really started feeling like I needed some type of meat. I pureed some tuna salad and it was delicious.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
