Looking for July Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies, I am 4 days out as well, however my pain is still present with a vengeance. It might gave something to do with the fact I had a Lapband reversion plus a bit of scar tissue. But nevertheless, I feel great. Everyday it gets better. I don't regret it at all...down 21lbs![/quote

wOW 21 pounds in four days awesome.!!!!!

@@kathysleeve

Not quite 21lbs in 4 days, it was since preop....so more like 21 in two-weeks, but thank you so very much! Haven't list this amount in forever!

July 22nd for me! That's only THREE days away! :-) I'm getting pretty excited about it. The pre-diet hasn't been to bad. I've really only been hungry the past couple of days. Fortunately my insurance company has deemed it medically necessary and have approved it for 100% coverage. I'm soooooo ready to get off of the blood pressure meds and other meds that I need because of my weight. Good luck to everyone with your surgeries!

Surgery Monday... I'm so nervous and excited. I haven't been able to get the shakes down I've only been having one every other day I'm hoping that doesn't effect the shrinking of my liver???? I'm down 19lbs since I started the liquid diet and 29 all together. So excited!!! Good luck to all.

5 more days before my surgery. The doc said I had already lost more than he asked me to so don't worry about the liquid diet for these last few days. Because of my strenuous work I have lost size as well as weight on my new job. Was 282 and now 251

I have an omelette with cheese with a Protein Drink before going to work and still losing weight. Drinking tons of Water and soaking wet with sweat at work. Feels good!

That's great Mick! What are you doing at work?

I unload packages for a couple of hours at a very fast pace every morning and then change to "courier" and deliver packages. Do not want to name the company but it would not be hard for you to guess. :-)

I was originally scheduled for Jul 30th, but my surgery has been moved up to the 28th, so I am really excited, I have a 4 day liquid diet that I am ready to tackle. I am so encouraged by all the other sleevers out there. Congrats to all the July sleevers and good luck :)

July 28th for me! I'm in South Jersey and having surgery at Kennedy Hospital(Stratford). I'm excited/scared and very hopeful that this will be the tool that finally allows me to get healthy.

Mine is also July 28th!!! I can't wait. This pre opt diet is killing and only into 2 days into it. I'm so hungry. I'm getting my VSG at ECMC in Buffalo NY..

Wow!!!! I thought I was the only one. It seems as if everything started moving so fast once I got approval for surgery. Pre-Op class, Pre-Op liquid diet, Pre-Op clearance. My head is just spinning. Excited and scared at the same time :o

July 24th for me.

I keep flipping between being really excited to get this done and then I catch myself thinking "OMG, are you seriously going to do this". Date can't get here soon enough so I this can stop.

Good Luck Dexter1118, I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. De La Cruz on July 28th. :)

I am scheduled for July 8 at the University of Miami Hospital. Started pre-op diet, 4 weeks Optifast, on June 10. Nervous, excited, scared. Never felt so many emotions.

Who's having surgery this week? Mine is on Wednesday in TJ at the OCC. I'm so ready to get it over with. Has anyone else been asked to do lung exercises the week before with a spirometer? Just wondering.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to. And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed. I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
