  4. I think she meant , "gastric bypass" , because there is not a difference between sleeve and gastric sleeve. But the gastric bypass patients do have malabsorption issues

  17. There is a July sleevers page here on the forums...also there is a July sleevers facebook page that is private, so you can't find it by searching for it, and your friends on facebook can't see anything at all even when you post. It is a wonderful group!!! My surgery is the 28th, On my liquid diet now!! Best of Luck to you dear!!
  18. My doctor wants the following post-op week 0-3 High Protein liquids week 4-6 Full liquids and increase to pureed textures as able. week 6-8 Semi-solid, moist mushy foods. week 8 time to transition to a regular textured diet. 9week and beyond: enjoy each phase has a long list of do's and don'ts and sample menus. This was given to me by my NUT
  19. I haven't had surgery yet, but my NUT told me a great trick to use with tuna, take a avacado and mash it up, then take two tbs and mix it with the tuna instead of mayo. ??? sounded good to me...I have yet to try it, but I eat tuna without bread, so this may work for me.... I love avacado
  20. I don't know how much Water you are drinking...didn't see that posted anywhere. It doesn't have to be plain water either, use the mio drops or crystal light. There are several ways to change it up so it doesn't get boring, but you should be drinking at least 64oz a day. My tip for you is to have like many have suggested with the Protein shakes and lean meal plan. In between these meals if you get hungry, try water, then if your are still hungry try some fresh veggies, You will lose the weight. Head hunger is very real, and I noticed mine when doing the above diet for a week, it made me realize a lot of my problems. Use "My fitness pal" it is very helpful for you to see exactly what is happening with your food choices. Don't stress, that will not help you, think positive and pump yourself up for this....YOU CAN DO IT!!!

  25. Ok....new to the site it's a lot to look at. But all the wonderful success stories are so inspirational!! I'm scheduled for my sleeve July 31st. So excited now. Had to do 6 months of managed weight loss treatment - lost NO weight. Now the last 2 weeks... I've got to lose 15 lbs any sugestions? First of all welcome to the site, and yes there is a lot to look at, but this site is so helpful!!! There is also July sleevers facebook page that is secret (have to be invited to it and no one but the sleevers can see your posts on it). Did your Dr. put you on a pre-op diet? If so, you will most likely lose that 15lbs. I have been on a protein diet ( two protein shakes and a light meal: mostly veggies very low carb if any per day) for one week. Now I am on a liquid diet for the last two weeks. I have lost more then your 15lbs during this time, and I still have over a week left!! You can do it!!!
  26. Happened to me too, 14 years ago, and I will never forget that moment, and the embarassment I had to of caused my son.
  27. wow, you look incredible dear!!! I need to take my pics before I get sleeved....I keep forgetting for some reason . Can't wait to have a pic like that ((HUGS)) you are an inspiration.
  28. I love that all of you are doing so well, we have one heck of a hot "topic" here...lol.... I am on day 2 of liquid diet, and yesterday was horrid, I was so hungry, but I kept busy. The bad part is, my kids noticed the freezer popsicles were melted, so I checked, and my whole fridge was warm....ughhhhhh.... . I will tell you that it is not fun to rummage through food you CANT have, and try to figure out what is bad and what isn't....it was like a herroin attic bagging up the goods, but can't have it.......IT SUCKED!!!!! But I did it Today has been so much easier, and I have had to mess with the kitchen stuff to get it all cleaned up today too....12 more days to go on this...(not counting today ) Just thought I would share my first day on liquids... BIG (((HUGS))) to everyone...hope all is well!!!!!
  29. I believe your Protein drinks count towards your liquid intake, of course I am assuming that you are still on all liquids at this point.
  30. My doctor requires 10% and he told me that if I could lose 20-30lbs then we are good to go.
  31. I am 35 (36 in August), but I am a Pre-OP sleever I will be sleeved on July 28th ...
