Which is my starting weight?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what I consider my starting weight? When I started my pre op diet I was 245, morning of surgery 238, then in hospital from swelling and fluids I went up to 250. Today makes 2 weeks since surgery and I am at 228. Any guidance?

In the interest of full disclosure, I have 3 weights. :o My highest weight. My pre-op diet starting weight. And my weight hours after surgery. I think they all count in one way or another. :P

I used my high weight before my pre-op diet on my ticker. It was just 2 months before surgery and it makes sense as a goal to me. I know my post pre-op diet was 20 pounds less my high-weight so I can keep track of it pretty easily.

I guess where we mark out starting point depends on what makes sense to the person tracking their own weight loss.

Go with the 245. The 250's just a blip on the radar and had nothing to do with your true weight. THEN, try to stay away from the scale for a while before you become a slave to its deceptive ways!!! Your success is in the bag!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
