Tomorrow is the day! As of right this second, I am ready and I am not nervous. I hope I remain calm and not nervous. Worst thing is I don't have to be at the hospital until noon. I think I can handle the not eating till then, but not sure about the not drinking! Anyway - wish me luck and pray that all goes well for me. Thanks!

My surgery is tomorrow too! I have to be there at 8am. Have you done the two weeks liquid diet, and today Clear Liquids? I definitely understand, I would go crazy if I couldn't drink an You will probably add a couple hours to that once at the hospital? Good luck! This is such an exciting journey!

Good luck with surgery. I wasn't nervous when I went in for surgery either, but then again I was in denial!!!

I'm tomorrow, as well. But I have to be at the hospital at 6:30a so the no eating/drinking thing isn't going to be that difficult for me. I'm going to wake up, get dressed, throw my stuff in the van and head out.

Well I made it through the surgery and now wait to see when I can go home today . Initially the pain post-op was bad. It felt like someone was laying on my chest and kicked my side. After drugs and walking and a nap I started to feel better. I slept very little 2 to 4 hours at a time , hospitals are loud and bright! My throat was sore and my mouth was dry like the desert . I read the boards for support and review before and after pics to keep me inspired. I have a lot of weight to lose to reach goal and seeing that other sleevers have done it successfully makes me believe I can do it too, thank you!

Thank you for your well wishes. I wish you well today with your surgery . It will go fast once they get you in pre-op. Then you will wake up in recovery and hopefully you will get a room soon after that. Speak up if your in pain. Be ready for little sleep in the hospital, they are loud and bright. Bring lip balm with you, it will make you feel better since you will not be able to drink. I look forward to having ice chips and then broth if I pass my upper GI today. I never thought I would be happy about that! Good luck , stay calm and focus on your goals. Take care!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
