  5. I'm on Forfivoh, which is a fairly large XR pill and I take it whole just fine. I started taking it whole on Day 2 and just explained to my surgeon that I couldn't crush it because it was XR. He understood. My suggestion would be to talk to your doctor and see what he suggests.
  6. I went to my 1 week follow-up today. I've lost 10.6 lbs. I'm on full liquids for another week then on to blended liquids for 2 weeks. Doc is happy with my progress.
  7. I'm 8 days out and am still wearing my binder. I find it very comfortable and takes some of the tension off of my large incision. As for the gas pain, I never had any to begin with.

  9. I don't have a recliner but I've had pillows propping me up. I'm 6 days post-op and can just now comfortably sleep on my left side (my big incision is also on the right). I'm a stomach sleeper so I can't wait till I get to the point to where I can sleep normally again.

  11. I take 2 generic children's vitamins. They're the only ones I could find that included thiamin and iron (which my nurse said was important I have in my vitamin).

  14. I'm in middle TN, too! Just had surgery on the 4th!
  15. Going into 5th day post-op and I've still got a lot of pain at the large incision. Never had any gas pain. I guess I managed to walk that off pretty quick. So far I'm only doing 1 shake per day but I think I need to up that to at least 2. I have yet to feel hunger pangs. I know when I'm hungry but it doesn't feel the same as it used to. I haven't weighed myself yet and I'm not going to until I go back to the doc Thursday. I don't want to be brought down by any weight I've gained from the surgery. I know it's still there because my legs are still swollen with retained fluid... I definitely need to drink more water.
  16. 4 days post-op and I'm doing pretty good. No nausea and the only real pain is the large incision and the muscle underneath. The other incisions have started itching. It still hurts to get up from sitting or lying down so I'm still taking my pain meds. I'll probably stop in another day or so. Having trouble getting in all my fluids but I'm getting as close to goal as I can. It doesn't hurt to drink, I just don't feel thirsty. Burping, hiccups and coughing is painful. I'm on full liquids so I'm quite enjoying my cream soups.

  18. Well, I've had 2 meals on clear liquids and they think I'm doing so well that I get to go on full liquids for dinner! Also, probably going home tonight. Other than being super sore, I feel great and am surprised at how well my recovery is going.

  20. I'm about 18 hours out. Things aren't too bad. I don't have any drains in and I've been up and walking just fine. I'm most sore when I try to get up. I've had quite a few bouts of nausea but they've been quick with the zofran when I need it. I also have an anti-nausea patch on so that's helped, too. All in all I feel pretty good, considering.

  22. I'm tomorrow, as well. But I have to be at the hospital at 6:30a so the no eating/drinking thing isn't going to be that difficult for me. I'm going to wake up, get dressed, throw my stuff in the van and head out.

  24. Much the same with me. Surgery is scheduled for 8:30 tomorrow and I'm about to start packing. I'm not really nervous. I have no second thoughts or anything but I am sad about being away from my girls (4y and 16m). They're staying with their father for the next week and 1/2 since I won't be able to lift the baby at all. I may try to Skype with them Thurs or Fri.

  26. Surgery in 4 days. The excitement has subsided a bit and I'm not nervous yet. I'll probably be nervous on surgery day. I haven't packed yet but there's not much I'm taking with me... a few electronic necessities, a pillow and toiletries. I'm wearing my pajamas to the hospital and will be wearing them home. I feel like I'm forgetting to do stuff but I have no idea what.
  27. Hi! I've been lurking for a while. My surgery is the 4th. I've been on my pre-op diet for a week now and it's rough! Tomorrow is my pre-op at the hospital. I feel like I should be doing stuff around the house to get ready but am completely braindead on what. Anyone else feel like that?
