Any June 16th Sleevers Out There?

Recommended Posts

Hi all - I didn't go into surgery until about 5pm Monday. Surgery time was about 2 1/2 hours because I was a band to sleeve revision - there was scar tissue to be cleaned up and a hiatus hernia. First 24 hours were a little tough, just sore and out of it, but today I feel human again! I'm home, drinking fluids pretty well, able to walk around. All is good! Hope everyone else has a good recovery as well!

Got sleeved June 16th. Discharged today. Is anyone having trouble sleeping? Does anyone have a belly band to help with the pain?

I also was sleeved on the 16th. I couldn't sleep at all in the hospital. When I got home I took a 2 hour nap. Last night I slept for a few hours, but it wasn't really fitful sleep.

I start liquids tomorrow, and my surgery is Thursday! I know it's gonna be tough but can't wait to join the losers bench!

That's today. Good Luck to you.

I was sleeved on the 16th as well. I was discharged the next day. Having said that, I was dry heaving for a day and a half. That wasn't fun at all. I feel great now though. I haven't even needed my pain medication. I have however not been able to even get close to the 60oz oz liquid I was told to drink each day. Im drinking maybe 20oz at best at this point.

I' scheduled for the 25th. Been on the pre-op diet for two weeks even though my BMI dictated only one week. I feel great, energy level up, sleeping well and totally ready for my new lifestyle. I started experimenting with Protein Drinks weeks ago and found a few that i like so i don't anticipate having a problem after surgery. I'm sure the day before I will have some pre-surgery jitters but i feel like this 6 month process has been endless and i just want to move forward. Good luck to everyone!!

I was sleeved on Tuesday, got to come home yesterday, and today is SO much better! Learning how to drink again (without getting loads of air in my belly...that hurts!) and getting my walking in has been an adjustment but I'm super excited! I barely need anything for pain, mostly just 500 mg of Tylenol every 6 hours BUT I DO need my zofran because trying to get all my fluids in has been making me a bit nauseated (NOTHING as bad as the 1st two days, that was awful!)

Good Luck to all of you coming up soon...I have no regrets! It's not easy but it's SO worth it!

My surgery was also on June 17th. I was on pain meds in the hospital and I continued taking until Thursday afternoon. I was also on zofran for the nausea. I was pretty miserable with those symptoms, but again they subsided by Thursday afternoon and I ceased taking the zofran. So far I am taking in Water with no problems, except thinking I will never see the bottom of my jug. 50oz is a lot of water! broth and Popsicles go down real easy. I just started drinking Protein drinks, because unlike others I was feeling hungry today. The protein drinks did help me with that issue. No real pain, no real nausea, and no gas pain. All in all I think I am doing ok. I will enjoy my first bites of food though when I reach that mile marker.

@@jjinWA, I am hungry too! I thought I was an odd ball :D My doctor allows us to have very thin watery oatmeal this first 2 weeks and over the course of the day I managed one whole pack and have felt full (of course with my Protein shakes and other fluids) I am happy to see that even though I occasionally feel hungry it doesn't take much to feel full!

Glad to hear you are feeling good as well!

it is so helpful to know when you are experiencing a feeling or symptom, some one else out there is having the same symptom or feeling. Yup, I love knowing I am normal! :-). Thanks for the idea of oatmeal. That sounds wonderful!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
