I'm two years out from sleeve. I wish I had been told more about the emotional aspects of it too. Not everyone will be happy for you. With each phase there will be comments. For me, I just had to realize there were comments when I was big and now there are comments when I'm smaller. I've learned to tell people to mind their own bees wax. I also didn't know there were going to be so many victories and so much to relearn. I had to relearn how to walk. It sounds funny but I carry myself completely different with 118 lbs gone. It was interesting to find my stride and to learn to walk in heels differently or across a parking lot quickly. Sometimes I just giggle. I also didn't know it was going to be difficult to find clothes in my size. Apparently most stores only carry average size 8-14 in the ladies section. I'm still over weight for my height and I am in a 4/6. I'm finding that if stores do carry that size that they don't always carry a wide variety. I'm not a young spring chicken so I'm not exactly crazy about the styles in some of the junior stores. Lastly, I didn't know how men would respond different. I am very happily married and I didn't do all of this to catch some other guys eye. It kind of pisses me off sometimes how much men will flirt, make inappropriate comments, open doors for me, etc now, when they never did it before. to be quite honest, sometimes it pissy me off because I still think I am the same person inside, the only thing that changed was my weight. Any who, it's a learning process. Ya just kind of have to work through it.

I'm new to this, just sleeved 7/1 and the thing that amazes me most is the tiny amount that I can eat. When I look at one tablespoon of pureed food in the center of a saucer and know that's my portion it blows my mind. Also the fact that I use timers to eat by and to sip by. It's a full time job!

For me, my most favorite thing is I will never ever wake up in the morning with a food hangover again! Yes, I am putting this out there. I would eat so much crap at night. As if I was never going to eat again, and in the morning, I would feel so awful mentally and physically. I'd be so bloated that I'd fret about what would actually fit my bloated belly? I'd hate myself for doing this. Why couldn't I control myself? I'm only 5 weeks out, but I can tell you that when I get up in the morning it's the best feeling to not be bloated, and not have guilt as my first thought as I get out of bed. I'm actually not even grumpy in the mornings, and I used to be! It never occurred to me why, but yeah that's why!

I wish I'd have known the pure joy of buying a dress (albeit a size 16) in the "normal" section at Kohls. NOT THE WOMENS! I was giddy at the checkout. It's sleeveless (bummer) but it's perfect in every other way. I've lost 83 and have 70+ to go. I'm only 4 months post. But shopping is fun again!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
