Go weigh your laundry basket

Recommended Posts

So my two college daughters are home from school, and our family just returned from a two week vacation. I've been doing laundry for three days straight and still going.

Today I was carrying two stacked baskets down two flights of stairs. Huffing and puffing and having trouble seeing in front of me. It dawned on me to weigh the baskets.

The two baskets together (27.2 lbs) weighed less than half of what I've lost so far (55). That means I'd have to carry four stacked baskets to equal the body weight I carried around only four months ago.

This was a real eye opener for me and made me even more grateful for the loss I've had so far.

No wonder I feel so much more energy!

Lol I felt the same way when I tried to lift two bags of goat food together. They are 40 pounds a piece. It's incredible to think about how you physically can't carry something yet, you were carry it around.

This is great! Some one posted what things weigh a while back, a funny list. For some reason I latched on to the weight of a cinder block, 33 pounds. I've put one of those down and then some, but I'm still working on that second cinder block. So 66 pounds will be a celebration for me. Well, every day is a celebration, let's face it. So happy. Now for the next chunk.....

It's a real eye opener. I had my lap band done in February of 2011. I feel fantastic. I went from a size 22 to a size 8/10 and 90lbs lost. I only have 15/20 to get to my goal. Currently i'm 165. I was about 178-180 for a while then recently I went down to 165. I'll take it. I wish I didn't have big legs to start but in any case I'm glad I can shop at a regular section in the store and NOT the "Womens" department. Keep your snacking to a minimum, watch your portions, make sure you take your Vitamins and get your protein!! Good luck and enjoy your new body!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
