I'm 7 weeks out. I'm down 56 pounds but more exciting to me is I have lost 5 inches in my waist and my hips.

I'm down from 24 pants to 18; and some 18s are getting loose!

I bought a shirt at the store last weekend. It was in the regular section so I didn't know if it would fit. I held up the XL and thought it fit.

Got home and I was swimming in it! Went back and tried on the medium. It fit well but the bust area looked odd the way it was cut because I'm still a D. So I got the L and it looks good even though its a bit big.

Unbelievable! I also lost three inches under my bust and I'm having to use the inner clasp. I'm putting off getting new bras as long as I can.

Also I talked to my daughter who is 9. I was talking to her about eating habits and told her I don't want her to end up over weight like me. She said she didn't think I was overweight. If only we could see ourselves through their eyes!

I'm able to walk up the stairs at work which are huge without grabbing the rail or feeling tired. I have a lot more energy too!

My 20 yo son told me I'm not as fat as I think I am (his words). Then when I told him no more birthday cake, he freaked out! When I told my 14 yo about the eating plan, he said "so you're having medically induced anorexia". 23 yo daughter is like "so, you like going under the knife"

God made kids babies first so we'd have to love them. Then they develop the power of speech...

OMG Ginger snaps, your too funny, our kids are funny huh? I never thought of it as medical induced anorexia?

She is a smart one your daughter, her wheels are always turning, I can tell. Thats a good thing for the most part. lol Tell your son he has to have a mini birthday cake so there is none left after their done and not enough for you.

You know, I would never wish anorexia on anyone but you know its funny, I have always said just once in my life I would like someone to say to me "gain some weight your too thin" LOL :D Our kids love us and if they are expressing themselves thoughtfully and powerfully then we as parents I believe did a good job raising them. Good Luck to you. Pamela

That made me chuckle....and I think your 14 year old nailed it. It is a little like surgically induced anorexia (sort of) and it's a really good idea for some of us ;) I've found my kids do what I teach them, even as young adults. Mine reacted similarly to yours, at first. I taught them we should focus on food, and lots of it. I didn't mean to do that, but it's how I acted. I fostered bad habits under the guise of yo-yo dieting, trying to 'eat healthy', and alternately paying no attention to diet at all. Now my oldest daughter is preparing to have the sleeve, seeing what is possible. I don't focus so much on food, and I LOVE that I don't need to eat so much. It is definitely a shift in thinking. I see my middle daughter struggling with her weight, exercising, doing all the right things, but she is so hungry all the time she is miserable. I'll support her the best I can and my heart breaks for her, but in the back of my mind, I see myself, and I wish she could have a little surgically induced anorexia (sleeve), too.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
