Had to turn down opportunity at work bc of my surgery :-(

Recommended Posts

So I work at a bank, and have moved up fairly quickly over the past few years. Our bank is in the process of purchasing another bank in an area of the state where we don't have a market presence.

I got a call from my regional operations manager this morning asking me to be an ambassador for the bank and go to the other bank for a few weeks to assist with the transition.

I unfortunately had to turn the offer down because the time frame interferes with my surgery.

I am so sad about it because it's a huge honor to be asked. I know that my surgery is more important and I wouldn't even think of postponing it to accommodate the trip, but I still really feel like I'm missing out on something great.

I know that the important thing is that he thought of me and I was asked.

Sorry, I just really needed to get this off my chest. If only it was happening a month later! Ugh!

Aww that's still a bummer. Must be really hard to get asked and have to turn it down. :(

Good on you for thinking of your health first, however!

Opportunities like that will come again. They will not stop being impressed with you!

Thanks guys. I just really wish I didn't have to turn it down. I know other opportunities will come, but it's always hard having to say no to such opportunities.

A lot of really great things have happened to me at work this year, I just need to focus on that and on the fact that when I'm healthier, I'll be able to wow them even more :-)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
