What to drink at a cocktail party?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This Saturday, I want to attend a 40th anniversary cocktail party. I'll be two weeks post surgery. I won't be eating at the party but I would like to have a drink. Since carbonated beverages aren't allowed and sweet cocktails will just make me sick, any suggestions? I know alcohol is discouraged, so wine isn't an option either. I would love to hear what others do in these type of situations.

Water with a lemon, or lime or cucumber slice makes a nice refreshing drink and looks good , too.

Oh yes! Lemonade with a lemon slice would be wonderful. I'm not much of a drinker, so I don't know a lot about what would work, but could you get a diet margarita and just hold the alcohol? You could still rim the glass with salt. Or better yet, a frozen diet virgin margarita...

Thanks for all the suggestions. The virgin diet margarita sounds like the most festive. I'll probably have one of those and stick with Water with lemon for the rest of the time.

I had a cranberry juice with water! Technically it is a mixed drink and no one even knew that I wasn't drinking!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
