What to drink at a cocktail party?

Hi,

This Saturday, I want to attend a 40th anniversary cocktail party. I'll be two weeks post surgery. I won't be eating at the party but I would like to have a drink. Since carbonated beverages aren't allowed and sweet cocktails will just make me sick, any suggestions? I know alcohol is discouraged, so wine isn't an option either. I would love to hear what others do in these type of situations.

Water, skim milk, Tea or coffee... no sugar added...

OH but what ever you drink get it in a FUN Fancy glass... no reason you cant have tea in a wine glass... or water in a flute... Just ask...

Water with a lemon, or lime or cucumber slice makes a nice refreshing drink and looks good , too.

Oh yes! Lemonade with a lemon slice would be wonderful. I'm not much of a drinker, so I don't know a lot about what would work, but could you get a diet margarita and just hold the alcohol? You could still rim the glass with salt. Or better yet, a frozen diet virgin margarita...

Thanks for all the suggestions. The virgin diet margarita sounds like the most festive. I'll probably have one of those and stick with water with lemon for the rest of the time.

I had a cranberry juice with water! Technically it is a mixed drink and no one even knew that I wasn't drinking!
