Courtney Love has the band??

Recommended Posts

Grrrr....

Ok so they are now saying Courtney Love got the band. Which I would have no problem with it, except she denies it and here is what she says...

The former Hole singer has lost over 44 pounds (20kg) in four months which she publicly credited to a macrobiotic diet of vegetables and fish, and yoga.

However, Love - the widow of Kurt Cobain - has reportedly admitted to friends her dramatic weight loss is down to surgery.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "She's telling people she has had gastric band surgery. She even said she has to sleep with a towel by her because the surgery makes her throw up all the time and is worried she won't be able to make out with anyone because of her breath."

Love's representative denies she had a band fitted. He claims he has dined at macrobiotic restaurants with the star. He said: "It's not true. She says she never got surgery."

Grr.....if you didn't have surgery then fine, if you did stop making it out to be a nightmare....how do you all feel about this??

I have heard the conflicting reports, too. If she did have the surgery and she is throwing up all the time, there is something very wrong. Why do people think that is normal? No one should be throwing up all the time after lapband surgery--maybe she has too much restriction, and needs to be unfilled. We will probably never know the truth though.

ROTFL...Carlene I ditto you exactly! :)

I just love you! :)

Thank you, Kitty. I love you, too. Especially your screen name. I used to have a Boo Boo Kitty. I had to change his name from Daffodil after someone pointed out to me that "she" was a boy cat. So I named him "Boo Boo". Every time I tell someone that story, they ask me if the cat was yellow. No....he was solid black. I have no idea what inspired me to name him Daffodil. I was about 9 years old....LOL.

lol...your Boo Boo Kitty sounds like my rabbit Chopper formerly Maggie. :)

We had to change her name after getting a male to breed her with, and well fiding out that there was no way they could make babies, both being male and all... :) But sad to say I was 29 when I made the mistake... :)

Boo Boo Kitty is my beautiful kitty too.

How was she ever big enough to be approved for the band if its true? She was what, maybe 25 pounds overweight? She looks awful (well more awful than before now). So gaunt and thin. I want my band to work, but I don't want to lok like that!

She's jsut living proof that you CAN be too skinny. When you get older you just cant wear it so well. It makes me feel quite justified in reaching my goal near the top of my healthy weight range and not killing myself to lose more. She looks quite severely underweight, and her poor stomach in other pictures is empty and flabby. There does come an age where you jsut look better if you cover up a bit more. I saw another pic of her yesterday wearing a one piece costume and she looked so much better.

I doubt she has a band, I think she's had most of it sucked out.

If that's her 4 months post op, I imagine you would still be able to see her scars, even if faintly.

That was in a tabloid right? I would think they would have highlighted the scars not tried to hide them. I don't think she had the band, she has always bounced her weight up and down. I don't care for her, but if she is happy that's great. I know that I would be proud if I was able to lose that much weight on my own, fighting with drug addiction, the constant spotlight and being a single mom. Good for her however she did it as long as she is healthy. ~Mandy

Courtney Love makes me throw up. I have to have a towel handy when I watch TV, just in case. :)

You go girl! I think she's a skank (sorry, but the truth hurts) and an insult to women, period.

Well, the almighty dollar speaks and I'm sure she got a big chunk of change from Kurt's death....

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
