Hello All!

Just wanted to share my story:

I got my band removed and converted to the sleeve on 2-5-14. Pre-op weight on 1-22-14 was 247, the date of my surgery (2 weeks later) was 235 ↓12lbs. Today I'm 192 ↓43lbs and feeling great for a whopping total of 55lbs down in 16 weeks! My goal weight is 160.

I'm following the rules for the most part and work out at last 3x a week! I still have anxiety about not reaching my goal or gaining weight back over the years but I'm really trying not to think about that, and to make healthy choices for life and enjoy where I am right now!

Acid reflux is apart of my life now but as long as I take my meds it's controlled and doesn't bother me at all!

I'm loving the new me and because of how I carry my weight, people can't believe what I weigh, I'm hearing I look alot smaller!

Sooooo..... ultimately switching from the band was a great choice so far! #winning

Congrats on your success thus far. It may help to see a nutritionist and a psychologist along the way of your weight loss so that you can resolve some of your fears of not getting to your goal or gaining your weight back. I have to deal what causes my head hunger and head hunger so that I can deal with eating in a rational way. It really helps to sound off to someone who can help you become aware of why we turned to food in the first place. I starting seeing a nut and a psych two months before my. Surgery and still do ..I am 5 months post op.

Congratulations on your success! It's encouraging for me to hear as my surgery is scheduled for 8/4/14 and I'm about the same weight. I think you're right not to focus on the anxiety, but also think you should try to figure out why and where it comes from so you can address and slay it once and for all. The greater focus though I'm sure, is how good you feel and the confidence you've gained. I Celebrate you and say "me, next please." :)

I have a tip for you regarding the anxiety. Once you realize that goal is just a number, that you will eat and live differently FOREVER that anxiety can decrease. I have lost another 18# since hitting goal in February 2013. For me maintenance is simply a slight variation (allow more carbs) on the losing phase. It's all about living a new lifestyle.

@@cangudz congratulations on your success! It sounds like you are doing great. Keep up the great progress and as time comes you will reach your goal and surpass it. Your body will settle when it's ready. Just remember that all of the decisions you are making to be where you are now will have to continue on forever to stay at goal. I suggest once you do make it to your final plateau just keep weighing in often and if you fluctuate back up a few pounds work to get it back off ASAP. Don't ever feel bad, it's all very normal.

Best,

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
