Did anyone not have family support but had surgery anyway? Mom and I do this weird dance where she provides stuff for me(I am disabled) but if I go ahead w surgery I would be afraid she would be spiteful and relinquish her help.

And my sister says she's not supporting my decision because she loves me. Hhmph.

Your worrying too much. They're your family and even though they may express a lack of support now, after the surgery they will be there for you. They are just nervous about the risk and in their mind their attitude is justified as a means to keeping you safe.

Just let them know this is something you want to improve your quality of life and even if they can't get onboard, it won't change how you feel about them. ;)

They are your family and will still be there for you regardless of their opinion about your surgery. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I wish you the best on your journey! Everything will be ok you will see.

My family are supportive of me, but very scared of the surgery. I can't wait to get the surgery over with....as much for their sake as mine. Then they can see that all is ok...and the decision to have surgery is substantiated. Bless your heart. I know it must be agonizing worrying about your family...but follow your heart and I'm sure all will be ok. Hang in there.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
