Australia - Melbourne

Hi Everyone

I am from Melbourne and am starting a support group.

Sometimes you can feel alone not knowing many or any other people that have had weight loss surgery, and there are always so many questions that we have and support that we need.

Sometimes it helps just to talk to someone that can relate to you

I would love to hear from others in Melbourne, Victoria that are interested in this support group.

Hope to hear from you soon

Leanne

Hi they only gave me panadol for pain lucky I have oxy at home so as soon as I got home I had one went straight to bed slept 3.5 hours straight. For reflux I got omezol got omrex for nausea and Etoricoxib for inflammation as I normally take 800 mg of Brufen a day this is more gentle on the stomach. Water the struggle is real for sure

Yes I hear you I know exactly how you feel I'm the same with the nausea reflux confusion. I've just had a shake at home and it's gone down quite fast I am surprised as its a Fluid I believe it passes straight through my sleeve it was about 200mls have they given you any clear Soup or anything in hospital other than Water ???

Wow you've got good choices I was Water only first two days basically I got upset about it haha I was allowed a clear soup which was amazing then Optifast last night for tea but it was made with milk which made me nauseated then this morning i was given yogurt for Breakfast and fruit purée only had a few teaspoons of the yogurt as couldn't tell if I was full or not so I decided to not risk it. Are you looking forward to going home? Are you staying on optifast for how long after do you know what your plan is yet?

Yes looking forward to getting home. I have 1 week still on liquids then 2 weeks on pureed foods before starting solids. I have been using optislim so dont know how it compares to Optifast but i see myself continuing with it in a semi regular basis, just to help manage my weight loss and allow me a treat or two without feeling guilty. Email me at gtdavis67@hotmail.com if you like as i have alot of recipes that lets say i cant share on here lol

I may not be able to access my email till i get home.

I'd say that optislim is similar to Optifast low calorie complete shake

Well we will start soft foods at the same time as I'm on purée for 3 weeks starting Monday so I'd say we will be around the same time. I just had a clear type soup for dinner just a stock cube it was good went down well warm seems to be good and it helps with overall Fluid too. Purée will be interesting if say il have to do batches otherwise if I do it per meal it may be hard to get it out the kitchen blender as there won't be much lol. Will your partner help you with food prep when you get home you've obviously researched lots of recipes which is great il have to hit you up for some I've not seen many on pintrist hope you get a good night sleep tonight

My weight loss has started again, so I'm really pleased with that! So far so good on my journey

Hi Xena. Good to hear the scales are moving for you lol and a relaxing week away never hurt anyone. Im looking forward to moving thru the stages. Have they taken the staples out from your chest, was it pretty straightforward or not something to look forward to. I had six incisions with 3+ staples in each.

If you have the chance take more time off work. I do alot of lifting so im wont go back for 3-4 weeks. My long service came thru just in time. Also i will see my G.P. if i dont feel any the the meds are sufficient. Im not looking be become a junkie but don't want to suffer for no reason either. Remember one day at a time and keep sipping on those fluids.
