Literally. Met with surgeon today & date is scheduled for July 22nd. Middle of summer= HOT DATE!
I am so excited tot finally see some light at the end of this big fat tunnel, but I wish my husband was excited for me.

Don't get me wrong...best guy EVER, but he worries enough for the both of us. All he can think about is the "what if's". He is so afraid of something happening to me in surgery that he can't see that I have slowly been digging my own grave for the past decade.

I am taking him to the surgeons info seminar on Wednesday. I found it extremely motivating and inspiring, and it validated my decision. I hope he gets the same thing out of it that I did, and sees the benefits of the surgery instead of freaking out even more. Am I making a smart decision by taking him?

YES, absolutely! The risk of complications is there, but the probability is very low. Best wishes!

I did that too, with my husband. He also was hesitant and had many reservations because of the "what if" thinking. The seminar was great, because he not only could ask all of his questions, but hear everyone else ask things he was hesitant to ask or had not realized were concerning him. He did a real turnaround, and is very much more supportive now. I hope the same happens for you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
