I have Kaiser southern ca & the process was fairly quick! I met with dr, he referred me to Option Classes. Had to go to that 12 weeks. Then bloodwork & wait for referral. Once I got my referral to surgeon (outside of kaiser) I had 1 appt with him & my surgery was set for 2 weeks from then. Had my pre op appt the following week, psyc evaluation & more bloodwork. From the time I finished the classes my surgery was only 2 1/2 months later. My surgery was on April 8th. Only 2 weeks out but feeling pretty good :)

It is, but part of me is very grateful. I know I need to make lifestyle changes and figure out the emotional part of my food problems. The surgery only operates on your stomach not your brain, and I know I need the extra time to process and learn why I do what do and then change it.

Luckyducky how are you doing?!?!

I am doing great down 103 lbs total. I am down 69 lbs since surgery. It's been very easy to get used to and not many issues with eating or feeling sick either. Thanks for asking.

I am using Kaiser for OR/WA as well. I got my dr referral back in October and I am currently waiting on my follow up with the nutritionist and social worker next month. They have been super backed up lately so it has been taking forever. Hopefully after I get that done I can meet my surgeon soon!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
