So today is the beginning of the rest of new life. I have researched, read books, asked questions and it all leads up to my personal experience. I have to report to the surgery center at 8:30am, for a 10:30am start so I am STARVING at this point. Blessings for myself and all of my other fellow banders out there :)

Hi Chrissy, congratulations! And best wishes for a speedy recovery. You are right, 2014 is your year. Mine, too -- so happy I made this decision!

Hi Chrissy, I had a hernia repair at the same time, too. Had probably been bothering me for a long time and I didn't even know it! Good luck with everything. I kept thinking how the discomfort wasn't as bad as other things, like dentistry, lol. And I'm convinced the walking is the best possible thing to kick the body into healing mode, release any trapped gas, etc. Plus I was just so delighted with my decision that the recovery wasn't bad at all -- I am so happy with my banded life!

Thank you for all of the well wishes everyone! I'm home, resting now. Thankfully I'm not in pain so far, keeping on top of pain meds and walking A LOT. For those of you who are scheduled to have your band placement in the future...continue reading the forums because one thing I know for sure is that the forums helped me wrap my brain around expectations at the surgery center and prepared me for my recovery so far. I'll keep you posted on tomorrow of my 1st night.

Day two post-op...feeling better than expected. I believe I was afraid of severe pain since I've had two c-sections and a hysterectomy in the past (NOT THE BEST FEELING). Amazingly the only sore spot is the two inch cut where the port is placed. I don't want to jinx myself, so I'll leave it at that. Also, I've been taking the extra strength Gas-X strips to prevent gas pains and bloating. Sugar- free popsicles (2), warm apple juice (1 cup) and two ounces of Water is all I've had since Thursday before midnight. I'm trusting my band to tell me "I'm full" and sticking to the post-op diet. My instructions are to have as many Popsicles I can tollerate and begin thin Protein Shakes (2) today. I'll keep you posted.

Chrissy, good luck and congrats on making this big lifesaving change. For me, the band didn't/doesn't do anything yet, since I have no fill and I'm still on liquids. However, post-op swelling and healing time may give that "full" sensation for awhile. Be patient with yourself, do not obsess about post-op weight loss the first month like I did, and once your body heals, the weight will begin to come off.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
