The form of Vitamin is more related to what you can swallow. chewable and Gummy forms are designed to be absorbed easier and so they are recommended for the most WLS patients. You can try the tablet form and if able to swallow them without any stomach upset, your next step is to see if your labs show you are absorbing them (it takes a few months to see any change in the labs)

As always, check with your physician.

I thought we weren't allowed to eat gummies? I mean if we can I'd love to do that. What kind of gummies do you eat?

So you can start on these soon after?

Re gummies, I don't think that it's necessarily that gummies are not allowed or inherently bad for you. My NUT told me that gummies weren't a good choice for WLS because they don't contain nearly the % of Vitamins that the chewables do, which can leave you with nutritional deficiencies when following such a reduced diet.

I was told by my surgeon that for absorption reasons, take chewables in all your Vitamins for life. Now, the only thing I take in pill form are my blood pressure meds, since they are extended release. But of course I'm hoping to eventually reduce those or be off of them entirely!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
