Anesthesia problems?

Recommended Posts

I went in for my lap band surgery on March 25 and was put under. My oxygen levels fell and the anesthesiologist had to wake me up. No surgery :-(. I had a upper respiratory infection the week before, and even though I was well my lungs were still not recovered.

I rescheduled for April 22. I live in Southeast Texas and my allergies are horrible year-round. Two weeks pre op this time and I have a very mild sinus issue going on. My GP says I should be fine as my lungs are clear and I'll be done with a 10 day course of antibiotics next week. However, I'm still terrified that it will happen again.

Anyone else had this happen?

Not his time, but I have problems with Anesthesia and have to advise the surgical staff of that before they put me under. Best wishes, maybe since they know now, it will be okay!

Good luck to you for the 22nd -- it sounds like you have an excellent medical team and you're in good hands. Allergy season has not arrived yet where I live but I don't look forward to that, trying to keep every one healthy. We increase C and zinc for sinus plus avoid dairy, drink lots of extra Water, ginger tea, etc. I can't use them now since my surgery because of the carbonation, but those EmerGen-C packets are pretty amazing. Got to stop the post-nasal drip.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
