Why am i always hungry?

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow I will be 7 months post op and I've noticed that I'm always hungry, and I'm starting to eat bigger portions. Is this normal?

You are probably at a point where you are not getting in enough Protein (my problem)... or Fluid...call your dr...check to make sure you are not eating too much...

good luck

I've been keeping track and I'm reaching the protein goal. I'm just hoping I haven't did something wrong.

They talk about the "honeymoon" phase...the first 6 months where everything seems so much easier... so you are now over that and your mind it playing with you... as long as you stay on track you'll be good...(do as I say, not as I do...LOL) ...

Drink more... I find a cup of hot tea or broth more satisfying at times of hunger...

Good luck

I'm out 16 months out and yes you will get more hungry if you don't eat Protein first, if you start eating sweets, if you don't consume enough Water and calories. My routine is drink a glass of warm water with lemon first thing in the morning. Then Protein Shake by 8am or two white eggs with turkey sausage (14 g) of protein. I try to get 14-30g of protein by 10 am. Then I eat a snack it can be tuna, beef Jerky, cheese and ham. At lunch I eat protein, veggie or Soup I get about 15g of protein. I eat another snack before leaving work usually iced coffee with Protein Powder and far free hazelnut Creamer (10 g) of protein. Then I eat dinner whatever my hubby grilled or cooked. I just start with protein and usually that is all I can eat. I do eat before 7pm. Then I exercise and after exercise I normally eat half of the Quest bar. (10g) my daily intake is about 800-1000 calories but I try to stay under 35g of carbs. Protein is about 70-90g. If I'm really hungry I drink water with MIO or squeeze lemon and add berries. I have started doing protein Popsicles for the summer and it's yummy.

It's not abnormal to find that you can eat more the longer you go. I noticed at around 6 or 7 months, too, and at 16 months, I can eat more than I could at 7 months. We always need to be mindful and control portion sizes. Try to measure your food to avoid too much at once, and as for the hunger, I find drinking really does help. I drink coffee, hot or cold tea, and sometimes if I am really hungry, I'll have a smoothie. Seems frozen drinks really fill me up. I weigh, measure, and count calories. Just the restriction of the sleeve alone is not enough to keep me from gaining weight, but having it does help keep things in control.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
