I'm 2 weeks 2 days out and suddenly can't keep any puréed foods down. Is it too soon? Is this normal? I am basically back to full liquids. I'm feeling like I'm going to starve myself. Feeling discouraged right now.

I think you should go back to full liquids. That's my personal opinion. "Grow" into your food. See if that helps?

Two weeks is a little early for pureed.

If you are going to attempt it, you need to make it exceptionally plain. Low fat/salt/sugar.

What have you been trying to eat? How much have you been trying to eat?

I would keep it to full liquids for a while and until you're settled...

I have tried refried Beans, cream of wheat, cream based Soups, Wendy's chili. My Dr. Increased my diet and I felt it was too soon as well. Back to basics.

My doctor pretty much left me to my own devices. First two weeks liquid, then I can eat whatever I can tolerate.

The post op diets are guides, go at your pace. Definetely don't push to eat foods just because you can. I am finding bread and Cheetos have to place in my belly. I can eat a little bit of chicken, but I mostly eat yogurt and tuna fish and I am three weeks post op. Good luck!

I started puréed foods at 18 days and took it VERY slow. Continued my normal liquids, and took no more than 1-2 tiny bites of something 1-2 times a day. Tried one new thing every other day or so, and kept it simple.... Plain Greek yogurt, mashed potatoes with added Protein Powder, diluted refried Beans, diluted cream Soups, etc. a small baby food jar worth of food would last 2 or 3 days. it took me a couple weeks to feel comfortable eating. Same thing when I transitioned to soft foods. Slow baby bites, and never to the point of feeling too full.

Take it slow. Back to liquids. Protein Shakes This to shall pass. I know right now it seems like you will never be "normal" again but you will. Early on I liked warm stuff like tea and cream of chicken Soup. Oh and SF Popsicles.

feel better!

@@honeyg317 I had the same problem at the beginning and I think it was that I was eating too fast. I downloaded the Eat Slower app and it times a minute and a half between bites and I am doing much better.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and suggestions. Had my 2 week post op and saw the dietician. They think I'm doing well, but that my sleeve is very sensitive and I need to baby it. So my dietician and I came up with a plan that I am pleased with. I feel better today as well. Plus I'm down a total of 18 pounds since surgery! 30 including post op diet!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
