Alcohol-its not worth it.

Recommended Posts

I have stayed away from all alcohol since my surgery, but naturally as I'm irish and it was St Pattys day...let's just say after half a glass of wine I was buzzed. After two glasses, I was embarrassingly trashed. Granted, it was 12.5% but still. I ended up having to force myself to throw up, and it was not pleasant.

Anyone else drink since their new tummy? Bad experiences?

May I ask how far along are you? I was just banded on the 10th of this month but was hoping to enjoy the occasional glass of wine in a few months

I'm not a drinker but I do have a very occasional drink. I was sleeved 10/21 and have had a drink on 3 occasions. Each time I could feel it just getting the glass near my mouth! I drank slow and couldn't finish but I had no problems Andy husband loves that I'm now such a cheap date! Stay away from anything bubbly or frothy, sleeves don't like it.

I didn't try drinking till past the 6 month mark. I had some leftover tequila (about 1oz) and crystal light. I was pleasantly buzzed afterwards. Since then, I've drank a few Mike's Hard Lemonades. Usually 1 can is enough to get me feeling good. I pour it over ice and let the carbonation bubble off a little before drinking. I was really a lightweight about drinking before surgery, now it only takes 1 can. I am now a cheap and happy drunk!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
