That is so cool Babe! You may never need a fill! I had my second fill last week but it really didn't help a bit. I will probably go and get a little more fill in a week or two.

Sandra, you just keep weighing then! I had to throw out my scale to keep from doing that all the time. It really took will power for me to only weigh once a week.

Vegas sounds awesome.... but unless we hit the lottery I doubt I'll be able to attend... the family is planning on visiting Bosnia next spring (where my fiance is from)

NSV - I dropped off my rings today to be resized..from a 7 down to a 5.5!

but if there is any such thing as a reverse NSV - I HATE MY FAT ARMS! I bought 3 new dress tops (on clearance at JC Pennys for $7 each)... the short sleeves are too tight around my fat arms.. so I have to unbutton the sleeves all the way.. ugh!

I did speak to my hair dresser (who is also a good friend of mine) about the hair loss.. she said sadly there is nothing that can be done. She said she sees it with alot of her clients and it will slow down...but said she could always give me a weave! HA!

Melissa - I have had over 1 month of hard core Hair loss. Luckily I had super thick hair to begin with so now it just looks normal to everyone else, but to me I wanna cry every morning when I comb my hair and get the chunks coming out. I now shed worse than my dogs!!! LOL

I know it will grow back though so I don't worry. I am in desperate need of a dye job but I am afraid that might put my hair over the edge!

Dori-

I just colored my hair last night.. so far so good... I too was in need.. very overdue for my color! I also got waxed this morning... I had eyebrows that closely resembled those of that kid Kevin from the Backstreet boys! HA!... we wont even talk about how bad my mustache was! HAHA!! Gosh I love getting older... if the chin hair gets any worse I'll be able to join ZZ Top!!

Well, I already meet once a year with my Soaring Sistah's that I met on the internet. Why not go for a second vacation each year! Maybe the closer we get to our year anniversary we can start talking about it. I am not a gambler (I am to practickle) (notice I did not know how to spell practickle) but it would be fun to meet you guys anywhere. Maybe we could make it a expidition like the ones where you get excercise, like kayaking down a river! How cool would that be...or mountain climbing...eew no, that's too scary, maybe hikining someplace where they don't have bears or mountain lions (not into being eatin)!

My support group leader mentioned taking extra zinc if you are losing alot of hair. That it seems to help it come back or slow down the loss. This is in addition to the Protein Drinks. And it's just the cold-eze losenges that you take to prevent a cold.... It's worth a try.

I'm not much of a gambler but a white Water rafting tour would be awesome. I did that once which seems like a life time ago.

Here is Ottawa Canada there aren't many of us that have been banded but I hope that will change soon, so the support I get here is very much appreciated.

Another question, how do I get a ticker

preop: 327.5

op. day: 311.5

current: 265.

I love my band

Thanks for the post about the ticker!

I am stuck at 202, and I too am guilty of weighing too much (that sounds funny, LOL)

I have not been to a support meeting (Shame on me!) but when I went for the lap band seminar, there were people there that were just down right annoying!!!

Where does everyone live? Dallas would be a great place to meet and shop for new clothes!!

Hello All,

We are all doing so great! I love this place! Okay so I have not lost anything this week and I think I need a fill. The hunger demons are getting to me!!! I read on here before about the pounds vs inches. I feel thinner this week but the scale has not moved! I too weigh too often and it makes me crazy!!! I get scared that it will go up and I will backslide like every other time I have lost weight.

No Hair loss yet but I am sure its coming.

I am spending way too much on new clothes....when my husband gets the credit card bill, I will be in big trouble!!!

I went to one support group and it was okay, but I would not go out of my way for it, I just happened to be there with DH. There is plenty of support on here!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
