Thank you everyone for your answers. I have the same concerns as Flutterfly19. It is a foreign concept to not be able to turn to food for everything....you all seem like you have such a handle on your eating and that seems foreign to me. I am an event planner so I tend to think out every detail and try to plan how to make things work and for the life of me I cant seem to figure out what my day to day life will be like without turning to food the way I always have. I equate it to all of a sudden moving to Mars. I have to find strength in the fact that it seems to work out for most people.

I'm 1 year post op and I still feel like this. I have the same urges as I did before. I will order so much food and then eat like 75% of one slice of pizza and be satisfied. The sleeve didn't change anything in my brain, only my stomach. My husband is always says, "Now, you know you're not going to be able to eat all that." I seriously think that I'm going to be able to eat all that food because I'm "starving." Well guess what? I'm so full AND satisfied after that 3/4ths of a slice of pizza. Sometimes I wish I could eat more but once you learn that you will puke if you eat too much, you will make yourself stop. I long to eat more sometimes but I know that my sleeve is doing it's job because my brain couldn't do that for me. My brain is addicted. I thank the Lord everyday that he allowed me to have this sleeve. While I'm not at my goal weight, I haven't had to diet not even one day. I haven't watched what I ate. The weight still came off. I still eat what I want. I ordered Papa Johns last night! I order Papa Johns 3-4 times a week and still haven't gained weight back. But I also haven't gotten to my goal weight either.

Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
