How long before driving?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. Prepping for surgery in just a couple weeks. Planning all kinds of help and stuff. Was everyone driving pretty soon after? Interested in knowing an idea of how long before I should.

I was able to drive once I was off pain meds and my drain was removed, which was 8 days after surgery.

Makes sense! Yikes, i can't sit still - don't know what I'll do if I'm still on pain meds at 8 days! Thanks everyone!

I'm sorry if my answer was confusing...I was only on pain meds a few days, but it was 8 days before I had the drain removed. I suppose I could have driven with the drain still attached, but my husband and I are retired so I let him do the driving...lol.

My husband and I spent one night in the hospital. I took 1 dose of pain med at home, and the next day was driving. Absolutely no problem whatsoever. After 3 days I was shopping, and in 7 days I spent 4 hours walking the mall. The only restriction was to remember not to lift anything heavy for about a month. A few days after surgery I never event felt I had had any surgery. Good luck!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
