sleeved on 1/27/2014 food tastes so gross

Recommended Posts

I am a little over 4 weeks out and I am starting to eat solid foods. However, everything tastes nasty. I have no taste anymore. Although, my Soups taste fine. but solids just don't. Is this normal? will my tastes ever change back? or will I forever hate food? I get so frustrated.

Same date and I live on Soups string cheese and oatmeal. Would totally rather skip eating. I will wish for this someday. Good luck to us.

I was sleeved on 12-16 and there are a lot of days nothing sounds good. I linger and linger in the kitchen just dreading having to eat a meal. Other days, it's not as bad. I'm hopeful it will get better as time goes on.....

Hi Cdestra,Southjerzjoy, and MGR 1852,

I was sleeved on December 10,2013 and this journey is one of trial and discovery. I,too, have days where food tastes well and others not . Patience, believing in oneself, and experimentation are my mottos. Charles2911

I'm also most 10 months out. This happened to me for months after surgery. My advice...consider it a blessing in disguise. It will help you stay on track and lose as much as possible during the first 6 months. After that, you get your tastes back for almost everything and with it your desire to eat (and thus harder to lose). Enjoy the honeymoon! It won't last forever!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
