Aw my surgeon today. He was happy that I met my goal weight 180 lbs down from 310 lbs as of May 1,2013 when I had my surgery. He put me on his web site with before and after pics. I a

So wrote a little thing about him and his office staff. How they are great and his after care is great too. Better I also gave a pep like talk to 3 women in the waiting room about how I had done and the ups and downs of the first couple of months post op. They all where going for their surgery in the next month or two. All said that I helped them and I was glad I could give them the support. Told them all I was a RN too so I was looking at my experience from a patient point of view and a health care professional. I loved my whole experience the nurses at the hospital where great. I called the public relation people and head of nursing several weeks after to tell them how great they had been they passed it on to the staff. If you guys love your nurses call write or fill out the survey the hospital may give you. I will tell you a nice note will be kept for years by the nurse you send it too. It is our job but it's nice to know if you make a difference in a patients life. Well off the topic but hang in there one and all! I am and guys if I can do it you all can too.

Congrats on meeting the Dr's goals (and yours as well!) In the hospital they had these kudos boxes where you could fill out compliments for everyone I did one for anyone I interacted with in a positive way, even the people who measured my pee or changed my garbage liners. It's nice when people know they are appreciated. It's like, everyone complains but taking that moment to compliment has a huge affect too...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
