bad day and fell off the wagon.....

Recommended Posts

I'm 12 weeks out tomorrow. My life has been super stressful and I have been eating ALL day long.... A Protein Bar here, a yogurt there, some berries here, oatmeal all to the tune of over 900 calories and I haven't had dinner. I know saying I'm stressed is an excuse and I am accountable but I don't know how to just jump back on the wagon. I haven't had this type of "binge" since surgery and I'm scared.

it's ok...shake it off and move on...consider this: pre-op you probably would have gone for chips, Cookies, candy....etc., right? So you made healthier choices... find some time to sit by yourself and do some deep breathing to try to relax... and maybe a hot cup of Decaf tea to soothe your weary soul... you will be fine... have your proper dinner and "tomorrow is but another day" to quote Scarlett... :)

I have some days when I just seem to need more food. Just stick to the healthy stuff and you should be fine.

I suggest getting back to basics - you know what you did when you were 6 weeks out...logging your food, measuring your food, concentrating on Protein and Water.

Here's my story - You and I are both at 12 weeks. I just got back from a week's vacation where I allowed myself some slack. Now, I need to get back to tracking everything - it's hard, but I've been doing it all day. And, I feel more full than I did when I was eating things off plan.

You got this.

The first hing I would do is get relief from your stress. That is probably what is causing you to eat. Figure out how u scam minimize your stressors. Sometimes we have to make hard decisions or changes in our lives to live a more peaceful life..

OK..u ate about 800 calories so far today. That is not surely a binge. just eat lean Protein tonight and skip any carbs.. ...drink plenty of Water ..lots of it. And then get some good rest. Go to bed earlier tonight. Or keep your mind distracted by reading a good book. Hopefully I've help.

Thanks everyone.... I can't eliminate the stress, a lot of it is work related (I'm a social worker/therapist in child welfare) the other stress is money~ my insurance is only covering 25,000 of my 130,000 dollar surgery and hospital stay. It makes me ill to think of this amount of debt! Definitely going to eat a balanced dinner and go to bed early!

I've found that the best thing it make sure everything is logged. Tomorrow, when you are feeling better, take a look at your log. It will motivate you to have a better day and stay on track. Forgive yourself and consider it a learning experience. It happens to all of us.

Completely understand about the stress...

For me, I have found I cannot let things I cannot control stress me. That's easier said than done, I know. Sometimes I'm successful and sometimes I am not. You can only do the best you can do today.

For the financial stress on the debt - it's like the question, How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Just chip away at it.

You're feeling overwhelmed - tomorrow is another day. Make it a good one, OK?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
