Hi to you all,

Millergirl, I hope that you are doing ok after your gall bladder problems. Hopefully you are starting to feel a bit better by now.

Janette, good news about your weight loss revving up again, and also about the cognitive side of things for all of us. It all helps I am sure.

I am really enjoying New Orleans but the internet connection is not brilliant and I am trying to do a lot of marking as well as enjoying myself so I have not been on here as much as usual. I hate marking at the best of times, but marking on holiday is the pits! It is great here though and we don't really want to leave tomorrow. However Madison, GA and Savannah and Charleston sound great too. food is a tad difficult and most days I am not eating much at all. I will see what the scales say when I get back home but it would be most unfair if anything terrible happens. I will be back to normal by then though so hopefully even if I do put on a bit I will be able to claw it back again.

I hope that you are all doing ok.

Take care

Claire

Hi All,

Sounds like everyone is doing well. Keep it up!

Past my six month mark; I'm down 131 pounds (total)!

Blood work is excellent and I'm feeling awesome. Have an appointment this month to see if I still need my CPAP.

Keys to success:

- Log Your food (everything)

- Exercise

- Positive Attitude

- Nothing Tastes Like Skinny Feels

Hey my beautiful losers!!!

I haven't lost any more pounds but I've lost sizes. I guess things are settling? I don't know. Now that school is back in and I'm back at work, I will have a better time sticking to a food plan.

These are size 7!!!! But I don't normally wear a 7. These just happen to be 7. But still...they fit. I am comfortably in a 10 which is hard to imagine. I still would like to lose another 32 pounds.

I have to go back to food logging. I must admit I'm a little off track. I even thought of doing the 5 day pouch test but I don't really want a gimmick. I just need to be accountable for what I eat. If i do the 5 day pouch test it will be to reset and be accountable. I can see how it does do that.

Here I am over the weekend in size M skirt and top. It felt nice.

I am still throwing up from eating too fast. Ugh. I have to slow down!

Erin you truly look amazing!!! What is the 5 day pouch test?

It's where you do two days of liquids (not clear), two days of soft/mushies and then a day of something else. I will google it and post a link. I think the idea of it is to bring you back to basics.

I've gotten a little lazy with keeping track and that's my downfall every time.

❤️

I'm not tracking either and when I do, I have way more success.

The group is very quiet.. must be that we are doing AMAZING!..

The information that my dr said how the weight loss slows down after 6 months is proving true for me. I have resorted to the 5 day pouch test which helps you get back on track.. it seems to have given me a little kick start. I so wish this surgery had a dumping effect with carbs!.. it definitely has not been a problem with me. I was able to lose 5 lbs while doing this. I think my body is really holding on to the final weight loss.... but that's ok because I'm at a healthier place and it's been soooo long since I've been able to say that.

I truly hope that each of you are having a successful experience. You all are amazing with the success you have had this far!

Best wishes

Deanna

Hello all,

I haven't posted in a while because I've been really discouraged. I've been stuck for the last month and then gained 5 lbs to boot!!!

I finally lost the 5 lbs and this week I lost another 5 so things are looking up and since the scale is moving in the right direction I feel much better now. I'm so happy the rest of you are doing so well, it's encouraging to me to know I'll eventually get there.

Tammy

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
