I was on a high Protein diet back in the mid 90's and lost 100lbs, lost a TON of hair throughout the process. It did come ALL back, but it took awhile. It helped when I cut my hair shorter too. Then a few years ago I lost 75lbs on LA Weight Loss. Again, I lost the hair. I cut my hair again super short, took Biotin and used Rogaine (costco generic) consistently and my hair grew back just fine and fast. I was just banded last month, but I fully expect it to happen again for me no matter how much protein I have (I avg about 90g per day right now). I think it just happens to some people no matter what with excessive weight loss. It will eventually come back and you will no grow bald! Kim

If you are in pain and have an unusual lump, I'd call the doctor and try to get in on Monday, instead of Wed. I had tons of pain for the first 4 weeks after surgery and had lumps, but now they are going away. What I can feel now is my port (I think) if I push by my incision. But I think because you are 6 weeks out and it's new, I'd call. Kim

Hi all I am about 4 1/2 weeks post op and doing soft foods and still a lot of liquids. I've had one "stuck" episode last week so I know what that is like, but today I'm experiencing some new feelings. I ate a few bites of egg this morning and they did not go down right (almost feeling like stuck) so I just stopped eating. About 2 hours later I had a Protein drink. Then about 2 hours after that I started to get a really strong tightening feeling in my chest, like someone is squeezing me and it's hard to breathe. It last about an hour or two. Then tonight I had a little bit of dinner and 2 hours later I'm feeling the same tightness again. Anyone experience this and know what it could be? I'm able to drink fluids fine, so I am assuming nothing is stuck, in fact I've been drinking a lot of Water to try to flush anything that might be there. Thanks for any advice! Kim

This is happening to me today. Not as painful as you and I don't feel the need to go to the hospital. But it happened this afternoon about 3 hours after eating VERY little and then again tonight about 2 hours after eating. It feels like someone is squeezing me and hard to breathe. Not sure what the heck is going on! Kim

Yikes, sitting in my recliner now. Seems to be the only way I can sit comfortably. I was also banded on the 15th. I am doing ok gas wise, but I have horrible incision pain. I'm waiting for it to be ok! I am not walking enough as I need to be as it hurts. I am not on Clear Liquids and able to add Protein to Water or non fat milk, so I've been doing that and not really hungry. I am taking in about 70g of protein a day.

amchenai, I feel the same way as you, not worried at all about the actual surgery but changing my lifestyle permanently and being able to do it. I'm still eating whatever I want right with a little bit of "last supper" mentality. I'm traveling tomorrow for 6 days and figured I'll just enjoy myself and start dealing with it all when I get back. Boo, sorry your file is still pending. I hope you hear something soon, did they give you and estimated time? My insurance approved mine super fast, in fact way faster than I ever expected. It was weird! Did all of you have upper and/or lower GI's? My surgeon did not require that. And he didn't mention anything about shrinking the liver either. Weird. I'm wondering if my ekg needs to be repeated since it will be more than 30 days until my surgery. I'd hate for something like that to slip it up. I'm off to visit family and enjoy myself.
